Lawline Web CLE | Understanding the Internet of Things (IoT) and Its Legal Implications
January 28 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm$89
Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 1:00 PM ET
The Internet of Things (IoT) is ubiquitous. Electronic devices of all sorts are connected to and communicate with each other. This “connectivity” raises many questions, including, among other things, who might have “possession, custody, or control” of electronic information that flows between devices, as well as liability when, for example, shared electronic information is “lost” or misused.
- Identify what the IoT is as well as its benefits and possible burdens
- Explore how communications over the IoT might be the subject of discovery
- Appreciate liability issues that might arise from use of the IOT by lawyers and their clients
