Focus on Mid-Size Firms

As the economy is beginning to recover, midsize firms are enjoying a time of growth. Since the recession, clients’ focus has heightened in terms of value and service levels, and as a result, they have deemed that working with midsize firms often make better economical sense than their Big Law counterparts.

However, for the Managing Partners of midsized firms, challenges still exist.  What is the best way to attract top talent?  What really sets me apart from my competitors?  How can I make sure my firm not only survives, but thrives? These are questions and topics that Thomson Reuters plans to explore in the Managing Partner Series, a new thought leadership micro-site developed for midsize law firm leaders.

The site will feature white papers, webinars, and peer insights to help midsize firm leaders prosper in today’s economy.  Currently the site features an interview with Margie Bodas, Managing Partner of the firm Lommen Abdo in Minneapolis.  In response to the questions above, Margie cites a tight-knit culture and superior client service as the keys to her firm’s success.  “Our lawyers want to get to know the clients . . . they are going to get personal service from a firm our size.” Margie also shares that the best way to gain knowledge and share best practices is from your peers; which is one of the primary objectives of the Managing Partner Series.

The goal is to engage leaders of midsized law firms in topical areas relevant to their practice and share insights and best practices that will help them make the c-level decisions that will drive firm success. Over the next year, the site will continue to add other videos of Managing Partners throughout the country as well as relevant content in multiple platforms that midsize firm leaders can access for free.
